Insured Service

The Insured service offers the customers secure handling and is designed for high value items.

The amount for which the item may be insured varies from country to country, but compensation is payable up to the amount indicated on the customer's receipt.

The Insured letter service provides the sender with a receipt on posting and the destination Post obtains a signature from the recipient on delivery. The item is handled securely en route to the destination country.

  • The Insured service offers your customers the security they seek for valuables.
  • The Insured service covers items to their declared value at the time and place of mailing, ensuring full reimbursement in the event of loss, theft or damage. The settlement of indemnity can be handled between Posts electronically thereby shortening the wait time for the customer.
  • A Post makes delivery data about Insured items available, electronically, to other postal operators who are PRIME members.

Track and Trace

PRIME's exchange of transaction data based on the barcode on each letter creates a progress history about individual Insured items that can be tracked by Posts' customer service staff. On the other hand, the data can be uploaded by the Posts to their own website, in their own languages, so that customers can access delivery and despatch information.
